Saying goodbye to Stan Lee

I was not going to write a post about the passing of Stan Lee. I really wasn’t.

For one thing I felt that the topic was just too big for me to do it justice. For another, I am still working through my own feelings as a fan.

The creations of Stan Lee have been an important part of my life for so long that the world just feels wrong without seeing his face crop up in cameos and geeky news reports.

Yes, I know Stan Lee was 95 and, mortality being what it is, no one stays in this world forever but there was a part of me that hopes that some people – Stan Lee among them – might somehow be the exception.

How do I even do justice to the man, the legend, and the legacy? Just writing this post makes the news all too real. For me, it is too soon to talk about it.

What else can I say but, thank you, Stan Lee. Geeks like me found so much joy in the creations you gave us. You touched our lives and made them better. We will remember you.
