You can now get me to beta read for you.
Over the years, I have curated a master list of questions to answer when beta reading for someone. It was developed from experiences running Thanet Creative’s writer’s nights. My master list is three pages long by itself. As a result, everyone I have written a beta reading report for has been utterly delighted.
My beta read report gives you a powerful resource to guide your editing and revision. You get both a reader’s and a writer’s perspective that differs from your own. Of course, it is only one perspective so you should feel free to ignore anything you disagree with. It is your story after all.
Your beta read will be broken down into 10 sections:
- Mechanics and basics
- Opening Scene
- Characters and motivation
- Plot and conflict
- Pacing and flow
- Sense of place (setting and world-building)
- Dialogue
- Writing Craft
- Overall Impression
- Additional Comments
You will receive a report covering each of the 80+ beta reading questions that I compiled to make the master list of all topics a writer may want from a good beta read. You will also receive an annotated version of your work with the noted sections clearly pointed out (assuming you give it to me in a format I can annotate).
Higher tiers on my Patreon get a free bate read which can save you over £30. That’s in addition to all the other benefits.
My beta reading services are now available to all (for a reasonable price).
